Syngenta Advion Roach Bait Gel
Advion Roach Bait Gel is formulated to target even the toughest species of roaches, german, american, and brown banded. The infected roach will carry the bait back to the nest which will eventually spread and destroy the whole colony. This is called a secondary kill method; therefore, it is very important not to kill the roaches that you see because these are the ones that will carry the bait back to the colony.

Advion Roach Bait Gel is designed to control pest species of cockroaches including German, American, Australian, Smoky-Brown, Brown, Asian, Oriental, and Brown-Banded. The slight delay in mortality caused by the active ingredient, indoxacarb, allows cockroaches to consume the Advion Roach Bait Gel and return to the harborage site to contaminate other cockroaches resulting in significant reduction in infestation levels.
Indoor Use Directions:
Infested areas should be carefully inspected to determine overall infestation levels, locations of harborage areas, and most appropriate application points.
ADVION Cockroach Gel should be applied as a small spot of material, approximately 0.5 grams ( approx. 1/4" in dia.), to areas not able to be contacted by children or pets.
Several small applications distributed within an area are more effective than 1 or 2 applications of large quantities. In some cases, a small thin bead (less than 1/8" wide and 2"long) may be appropriate (i.e. between construction elements or other cracks and crevices).
This product may be used in the Bait Tray.
Indoor applications can include cracks and crevices along walls or floors, behind or under equipment, under tables, within framing of tables or furniture, around sinks, within or near garbage collection areas, attics, crawl spaces, and cracks and crevices in cabinets.
Advion Roach Bait Gel placements should be inspected periodically for consumption or attractiveness and reapplied as needed.
A typical infestation may require as little as 1/2 a tube (15 grams) of Advion Roach Bait Gel whereas heavy infestations in large structures may require the use of several tubes.
Outdoor Use Directions:
A thorough inspection around a structure may reveal areas where cockroaches are gaining access. Attempts should be made to remove the access. Advion cockroach gel bait may also be applied as a spot or thin bead (see above) to pest entry sites such as along windows, doors, between construction elements, sewer areas, adjacent trees which harbor cockroaches, along walls, garbage holding areas, or suitable placement site acting as a cockroach harborage. Advion Roach Bait Gel placements should be made to reduce the potential of subsequent human contact. Advion Roach Bait Gel placements should be inspected periodically and fresh bait applied as needed.

Dupont Advion Roach Bait Gel is made of an active ingredient Indoxacarb, 0.6% and is not made of the Fipronil active ingredient.
Now one is really better than the other because they are made of different active ingredients; however, Dupont states that roaches cannot become immune to this active ingredient. In that sense, you would not need to change the type of poison you are using.
