Q. Carpenter Bee Control?
Need someone who can go to sides of the house on trim at roof and kill bees and seal the soffit
A. You can actually treat carpenter bees yourself with the same professional use products. We have a product called Delta dust that you can use to puff inside the holes where the carpenter bees have bore. Delta dust is a moisture proof dust and therefore it will last for up to 6 months upon application. After the treatment with the dust has been made we highly recommend that you seal the hole back up after about a week or two after the bee activity has decreased to its minimum. Sealing the holes will help prevent future infestations or water damages.
Q. Kill Carpenter Bee ?
I'm told you can keep carpenter bees from boring into wood sometimes by applying a thick coat of paint. Can you confirm this. If it is true can you reccommend a type of paint. Thank you
A. Carpenter bees do generally prefer unfinished wood. However, that does not necessarily mean that they will not bore into painted surfaces. It may be best to use a liquid concentrate product like Masterline to spray onto surfaces. Masterline is diluted with water and used as a surface treatment with a residual of about 3 months.
Q. CARPENTER BEES CONTROL KIT?
I received my carpenter bee control kit just fine, but I was wondering if there were any type of instructions? I think I can figure out the dust, but what about the liquid stuff? Do I just spray that on them or their nest? I'm an idiot! I have never really had them before and have no idea what I am doing. Any help is greatly appreciated.
A. For carpenter bee treatment, we recommend that you apply the delta dust into the holes you see around the building.
You will be using the duster in order to apply the delta dust. To use the Bellow Bulb Duster, fill the rubber container (bellows) half-way full with an insecticide dust product.
Pressing down the bellows will cause the dust to puff through the metal tip of the duster. Using a duster allows you to inject dust more easily into cracks and crevices, or inside wall voids where insects like to hide.
As for the liquid concentrate, you can spray it on any surface that the bees might come into contact with. It has a delay kill effect, so spraying it on them directly will not knock them down immediately.
Before applying, you need to dilute the concentrate with water according to the label.

Thank you for contacting us with your question. For treatment with masterline bifenthrine you will need to dilute 1 oz of the concentrated solution to 1 gallon of water. Generally 1 gallon of the diluted solution will cover up to 1000 sq ft. Cyzmic CS is a microencapsulated insecticide, therefore it will actually last up to 4-6 months upon appliation. Masterline bifenthrine will only carry a residual time up to 2-3 months.
Q. wood bees control?
Sometime last spring I found on the internet something that looked like a cardboard box that you hang from the porch to attract the wood bees, that would eliminate them. Do you know what I'm talking about?
A. Yes. Actually, they are not made of cardboard, but they are in fact constructed from bare wood which is why they are so effective. Carpenter bees are naturally attracted to these pieces. To use them in a more effective way, you can always cover the existing holes with the trap and they naturally enter the trap. The wood traps have holes that are already drilled in and as the bees enter the holes and inside the plastic, they cannot fly back out. The natural pheromone that the trapped bees release furthermore attract the other carpenter bees from the colony.
Q. carpenter bees sprayer?
Hello. I need to purchase a sprayer that can reach 20-25 from the ground to apply for carpenter bees. Can you recommend which sprayer to get from your website?
A. Unfortunately we do not have any sprayers that I can recommend to you to reach 20-25 feet from the ground. However we do have aerosol sprays that will spray as far as 20 feet. There is a product called
Stingray Bee Spray that you can use for treatment of carpenter bees. However to reach up to 25 feet you might need a ladder.
Q. Best Carpenter Bee Extermination?
When is the best time to treat carpenter bees?
A. It is stated in the
carpenter bee control product label that application to nests should be made in late evening when insects are at rest. Thoroughly treat nest and entrance, surfaces and surrounding areas where these insects alight.

Q. Will carpenter bees drill into dirt banks??
We recently bought an acreage where we are going to build and was told about the carpenter bees. On the property there is a large revine and it appears that dozens of holes have been drilled into the surface. We're sure it is an insect but not sure what and being winter nothing is there yet.
A. It is unlikely that the infesting pests are carpenter bees. Carpenter bees usually exclusively attack wood and so unpainted or unfinished wood structures will be prone to carpet bee infestations.
Q. carpenter bees extermination?
Which product is better for treating for Carpebter Bees or (which is stronger) -- Cynoff EC liquid or Cynoff WP powder. I prefer the liquid but will buy the strongest one.
A. Not one is better than the other because both products are made with the same active ingredient.
However, we recommend the Lambdastar 9.7 to spray for carpenter bees. You can spray this product outside on the surfaces that they are infesting.
If you have holes that are made by the carpenter bees, then you should treat the holes as well.
Q. can you treat carpenter bees hole around veg plants is the dust you put in the holes safe around these plants thank you?
A. No insecticide should be used around vegetable gardens or fruit trees. Unfortunately, we do not have a way to treat those holes with insecticide. You can use non-chemical traps like our carpenter bee trap.

Q. Carpenter bees?
Mu carpenter bees are in the rakeboards on my house along the roofline. The rakeboards are wrapped in aluminum and they are getting behind there. I cant see any holes, but on occasion I get one in the house. How do I kill them without being able to see the holes ???
A. You can apply a liquid concentrate spray on the surfaces where the carpenter bees frequent so that as they rest on the surface, they come in contact with the insecticide. Such insecticides are Talstar Pro or Suspend SC.

A. We do carry the carpenter bee traps that keep them in a bottle for some time, but if left alone for too long, the bees will die inside the trap on their own. Otherwise, we do not carry anything that will trap the bees and keep them alive for a prolonged period of time.

A. We do not carry carpenter bee phermones. However, carpenter bees work as a natural phermone to one another.

The easiest method of treatment will be using the carpenter traps. You can hang these around the four corners of the house or around areas you see the bees. If the infestation is extensive, you may also want to treat surfaces with Suspend SC. Delta dust is also effective when puffed into the holes the carpenter bees make.
Q. Suspected carpenter bees?
In my attic I found about six months ago like very fine dark sawdust in one place under a double rafter. The attic is foam insulated up to the sides of the rafters so only their central part is exposed. There are no holes or any visible sign of insects. I cleaned it away and placed a tray but nothing came again until last week, when the same dark particle dust fell on the floor on the same place. This time a cobweb hangs under the rafter so I can see that this dust comes from the very narrow joint between the double rafter. From the outside nothing can be seen as it is near the crest of the roof and anyway covered by asphalt shingles.
Do you think carpenter bees are at work and which isthe best method to get at them as the only opening is that very narrow separation between the two combined rafters?
A. Carpenter bees show more visible signs of infestation like the bees themselves or holes on the surfaces. We do advise that you get an inspection done so that you can accurately identify the pest and treat accordingly. Many wood infesting pests will leave behind sawdust and the infestation may actually be something other than carpenter bees.
Q. the bees that i found are very tiny, like a fly. could they be carpenter bees? all other characteristics are the same, the holes, there physical characteristics, etc.?
A. Carpenter bees are usually not tiny, such as a fly. Without a careful inspection, it would be difficult to identify the insect. However, for wood boring insects, you can use items such as Boracare or Delta dust for effective treatment.

A. For bee, wasp, and yellow jacket control, we recommend using Suspend SC as a concentrate to apply with a 40 gallon sprayer.

Q. My husband and i are going to put a deck in and when we tore down the railroad ties hundreds of carpenter bee came out. A. It depends on the type of wood that is used to build the deck and if the deck will be finished with paint or not. Typically, carpenter bees like soft wood and unpainted or unfinished wood. To kill the bees on contact, you can use Wasp Freeze or Sting Ray Aerosol which are jet sprays to instantly knock down flying insects like bees, wasps, and hornets. Once you are able to knock down most of the bees, we recommend that you apply Delta Dust or Suspend SC. Since we cannot adequately evaluate what the isolated area of infestation looks like, we will not be able to give you a more definitive answer. We apologize for being unable to better assist you.

A. There is no such additive to prevent them from returning. We do recommend treating the holes before you fill them in and waiting until you can be sure that you have eradicated the entire infestation. We also recommend after filling in the holes, that you keep up with regular pest control maintenance by spraying surfaces with a residual insecticide. Are there run-off issues using poisons for carpenter bees? Will the dust run out/down outside walls & contaminate soil @ base of house? What about any liquid poisons used? A. If you are using a liquid insecticide, you will not have to worry about run off issues if the product has fully dried on the surface before rainfall. Dusts will have a greater chance of drifting off because it is a loose form. However only small amounts of dust application is needed to treat areas, therefore even if the dust were to float out from the area the amount floating around will be too little to cause any harm. Q. Best solution for extreme carpenter bee problem?
I have been trying for numerous years to end the endless onslaught of carpenter bees. I live in a log cabin in the woods making nearly impossible to keep up with them. I have used the kit with liquid spray on pesticide, and drione dust with puffer multiple times over past 8-9 yrs which initially reduces their activity but never eliminates them. It is impossible to reach all the holes since they are higher than extension ladder can even come close to especially on side with walkout basement. (25-30') Could this be why I can't eliminate them? They are literally making Swiss cheese out of my house & there are so many of them at times, I even resorted to keeping a badminton racket to smack them at front & back doors! What spray on is most potent & longest lasting?
A. Sorry to hear about your carpenter bee problem. Try Demand CS, it's a micro-encapsulated insecticide so it has a very long residual effect. I would try setting carpenter bee traps around that area.
Q. Carpenter Bee Problem?
We have what we consider a large infestation of carpenter bees. I was on the verge of ordering the Delta Dust and sprayer to treat, but then saw your recommendation for the LambdaStar liquid. Is it recommended to use one or the other, or both?
A. LambdaStar is a great follow up treatment to prevent future borers. If you are currently dealing with an infestation, I recommend you begin with Delta Dust and dust around their entrance holes. As you start to see their activity decrease, close up the holes to prevent future water damage or reinfestations and spray Lambdastar to prevent future holes.
Q. What effect will orange oil furniture polish have on carpenter bees??
A. Carpenter bees are attracted to unfinished wood with out any polish or finishing. But if they are still infesting your furniture with the orange polish you may want to try the carpenter bee traps.
Q. does any of the carpenter bee pesticeds hurt dogs?
A. We do not recommend using dust products around pets because it can easily be inhaled. However when using a liquid spray, the treated area can be reoccupied once it has fully dried.
