Little Black Ant Control
Little black ants (also known as sugar ants and house ants) are very tiny in stature and black in color. Believe it or not, they are truly identified as "little black ants." They can be easily spotted in backyards and lawns nationwide, mainly on the eastern side. Their ant mounds can be found in areas such as rotting logs, cement cracks, yards and open areas. Their diet usually consists of other insects, sweets, vegetables, fruits and even meat. Moreover, they are known to eat just about everything. When searching for food, you can usually see workers form trails along sidewalks, on walls and cracks/crevices. The colonies and mounds grow in a fast pace due to the heightened and stimulated mating senses of their queen(s).

Little Black Ant Treatment
Little Black ants' senses can also be heightened from an attack. When workers send out a signal of an outside threat, their queen(s) is then urged to create more offspring and generate more queens to preserve their population. For this reason, exterminators use non-repellent insecticides to effectively kill ants without setting off any "little black ant" alarms. Non-repellents are ideal when managing ants. Even though non-repellents are not fast acting, they are undetectable under an ant’s threat radar. As a result, these non-repellents are then shared with the rest of the ant colony where it will serve as a “domino effect,†infecting and killing the whole mound population one by one(some great examples of non-repellents are Phantom Insecticides and Alpine Insecticide Sprays).
How to Get Rid of Tiny Black Ants
Little black ants are resourceful and can pretty much nest anywhere. When indoors, these ants can form mounds under floors, in carpet seams and behind walls. It’s not until the summer months when these tiny pests begin to cause a mess. When aware of an ant infestation, it is best to seal off all potential openings to your home. Any possible entry ways such as cracks and crevices on walls and floors, doors and windows should be inspected and treated with the right insecticide. It is vital to remove any decaying wood and debris surrounding your home to further ensure prevention. Some pest control applications that are suggested to treat infestations are: ants baits, ant sprays and ant poisons. A mixture of these control methods are a definitive solution for your ant problem. Keep in mind, that most ant infestations are usually temporary, meaning that they will come back, so it is up to you to readily prepare your home for a yearly invasion.
