For electronics Mother Earth DM Dust would be the best product to use because you will not be able to use any kind of liquid insecticide to spray on electronics or electrical outlets.
However, for a more thorough treatment we recommend that you use a liquid concentrated insecticide with a long residual time along with the dust so that you may be able to cover a larger range of areas with pesticide.
Also, with the liquid insecticide we recommend that use mix it with a IGR. IGR is an Insect Growth Regulator. The IGR has no killing effect, however it prevents the bed bug from being able to reach a stage where they can reproduce.
Therefore it not only speeds up the process of elimination it makes it more effective.
Thank you for contacting us with your question. By DE I assumed that you were referring to the active ingredient Diatomaceous Earth.
This is the active ingredient in Mother Earth Dust.
Because it is a dust form we do not recommend that you spread it in areas where people may be able to inhale the dust or come in direct contact with the dust. Although the ingredient in it self is natural, because it is a dust form it is non soluble, and therefore the dust can remain in your body system when inhaled.
The liquid insecticide and the IGR is also safe for humans and pets once it is dried. These are all chemicals so safety precautions should always be taken. When applying chemicals it is advised that you wear a mask and gloves to protect yourself from inhaling the chemicals during the application.
Right now, one of our most popular bed bug dusts is the Mother Earth dust. However, we only have the 10lbs size and the 8ounce has been discontinued.
The closest 8ounce alternative to Mother Earth will be Alpine dust that is 95% Diatomaceous Earth active ingredient.
