Many pests that have settled in the house use hard to reach areas like the wall voids or behind appliances to hide in or as harborage sites and breeding grounds. Others use these inaccessible locations to travel to and from each room. Often times, pest control becomes difficult when you are unable to readily access such locations. Moreover, crack and crevice treatments are difficult when you do not have the correct tools or products to use. However, Pest Mall has a wide variety of dusts and dusters that will allow you to treat cracks and crevices as well as inaccessible areas. Moreover, because of the long residual of dusts, you will not have to go through the inconvenience of reapplying as much as liquid sprays or aerosols.
All product labels must thoroughly be reviewed before application. For more information on the dust products and dusters that are provided by Pest Mall, call 1-800-788-4142.
Dust insecticides is a formulation of insecticide that is made of a fine or a thoroughly ground mixture of clay, talc, or other powdered materials with an active ingredient chemical. Because they are intended for dry use, dust insecticides cannot be mixed with water when applied to the infested areas. Dusts are the most frequently used for interior wall void treatments, treatments for around the perimeter in the crawl space, and as a crack and crevice treatment. Crack and crevice treatments refer the method of treatment where dust is puffed into cracks or crevices in small amounts. These cracks or crevices usually serve as harborage areas or travel paths for crawling insects. Although these dusts are puffed into these areas, they are not detected by the pests. Instead, they walk right through it and pick up the dust materials as they move through these spaces. Eventually, they will either absorb it through their bodies or ingest the chemical as they are cleaning themselves. They die shortly after due to the contact kill effect. Many of the dust products that are provided by Pest Mall are products that you can use for several different crawling insects which include such pests as cockroaches, earwigs, ants, bedbugs, silverfish, spiders, and etc.
How to Effectively Apply Dust Insecticides
A mistake that many people make with dust products is that they will pour or over-apply a product in just one concentrated area. What happens when there is an over-application of a dust product is that the crawling insects simply walk around the dust instead of walking through it. Since the dust products are a contact kill insecticide, dust insecticides are virtually useless if the insects do not crawl through it. That is why such products as dusters have been manufactured. Dusters allow you to apply an even layer of dust insecticide in a manner so that the dust is enough to kill the crawling insects but does not over-saturate the infested area as to repel the insects. Moreover, Pest Mall provides a variety of dusters that will help you apply to a specific area inside or outside the home. For hard to reach places, select a duster that has a longer extension. Apply dusts to areas that are less vulnerable to contact or traffic, in areas where it cannot blow around, in hard to reach and more restricted areas, in crawl spaces, in attics, and etc.
