Q. warer conducting fungi?
Hi, I have a decay fungi, most likely Poria incrassata as the main culprit, possibly others that I wouldn't know how to identify. It's very active on the roof, coming down all roof vents, and in all ductwork around windows and doors, through ceilings and even walls and floor. getting in all appliances, furniture, clothes bedding and all plumbing fixtures in the house. Also in the garage, shed and vehicles.
Can you please tell me what I need to cure the problems?
Thank you for contacting us. Timbor Professional
is effective against fungi. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. Getting rid of mold stains on stucco/brick?
Black mold. Growing on stucco on side of house. Also on brick fence. Some in direct sun. Some in shade. On both North and South facing walls. Some growing on top of brick fence in direct sun. I am seeing this stuff on neighbors house too. Tried bleach. Not much result. Same with Mold Armor (Home Depot).
Contractors tell me they have chemicals that will easily remove it.. but they must apply it, which means I have to get them mixed up in my affairs - which I just hate to do.
You probably know exactly what these chemicals are. I note you do have the termiticides my termite man uses ( fipronil ), and I will be getting some from you. I am especially intrigued that Frontline is also Fipronil.
I intend to try pool acid on these black mold stains. Maybe Sodium Hydroxide (Lye solution). Something must work to kill this stuff. I note the boracare with moldcare seems to use the same chemical Mold Armor uses. It may work fine to inhibit mold, but I am looking for something to make the black go away.
Yeh, I could paint over it, but I would feel a lot better if I knew this is not coming back.
Thanks for letting me ask.
A. The only product we can recommend using is Mold Clean. This will get rid of surface mold, but the mold problem will persist as long as there is moisture in the area. To keep it from coming back, it is important to rid of all moisture sources such as leaks in the area.
Q. Does Timbor break down the protein of stachybotrys and ulocladium mold??
A. Unfortunately, we are not that extensively versed in the product and we can provide you with general information. Please contact the manufacturer, Nisus, at 1-800-264-0870 and they will be able to better assist you in the inquiry you have about the product.
