This is one bug we all wish we can live without. It seems like their only purpose in life is to make our lives miserable. Surprisingly, not all mosquitoes thrive off of human blood. Male mosquitoes prefer flower nectar, juices, and decaying matter. Its the female mosquito we all need to worry about. Female mosquitoes need blood for reproduction purposes. In addition, female mosquitoes prefer animal blood over humans, especially birds. Even though we are not at the top of their list of targets, this doesn't mean we'll be ignored. The worst part of their bite is the potential of catching a disease. Mosquitoes can carry west nile, malaria, yellow fever, and more. Till this day, mosquitoes have killed more people via disease transmission than any other single factor. Furthermore, mosquitoes can also be the blame for heart worms in cats and dogs. Get Rid of Mosquitoes
Before you try to find ways to get rid of mosquitoes, the most crucial part of effective control is to understand the pest by being able to identify their appearance and behavior. Did you know there are well over 150 species of mosquitoes residing in our nation? Most of these mosquito species were brought over from other parts of the world. The life cycle is very distant between the sexes. Females can live up to 100 days while males can only live up to 20 days. A female can potentially lay up to 3,000 eggs during the duration of her life. It only takes about 7 days for mosquitoes to fully mature from egg (larvae) to adulthood.
How to Kill Mosquitoes
For effective mosquito control, the source of the problem (breeding site) needs to be taken care of initially. Skipping this step and going directly for the apparent problem will only provide temporary relief. Mosquito breeding sites are normally found near still water areas. Mosquitoes love wetlands and the humidity, so look into areas where water can potentially be (ex: old containers, inside of tires, pools, tree holes, marshes, puddle ditches and etc).

Q. Mosquito Control Suggestions?
Hello, We are in the process of adding a mosquito barrier spraying program. We are looking to follow the standard one spray every 3 weeks. We have an organic solution that we may offer on shorter intravals, but we are looking for a standard product. We still welcome all organic solutions as well. Can you make any suggestions. Obvisouly, the safer the product the better, but we want our programs to be effective for the three weeks. We have looked at Cyonara as a possibility. Also Bifen and Talstar. We have not tried any of them out yet. We want something to mix with water, not oil. We will be using Stihl SR 420 backpack sprayer/foggers. Thank you for any suggestions you may have. We are in North Carolina and are certified.

Q. how to kill mosquitoes?
There are random mosquitoes flying around in my house. no windows or doors have been opened.
A. The mosquitoes could have entered with you as you were coming inside the house. There are still many possibilities of entrances other than open windows or doors in which they may enter the house by. See if there are any standing water near your home in which they could possibly be reproducing in.

What is the best solution to kill Mosquitos that will have a lasting affect?
Dragnet?

Q. yard was sprayed for mosquitos last summer so would growing vegetables be harmful in the same soil?
A. Depends on the residual of the insecticide and what insecticide you used. You should refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before applying any pesticides.

Q. how to kill a mosqitos in a pork farm??
A. Unfortunately, we have no way to advise insecticides to a pork farm since most insecticides have residuals that may potentially harm the pigs. Also, since there is always a moisture whether it is in their water source or around their pens, there will always be a way for mosquitoes to breed. Q. mosqito repellent and killer spray is harmful or not??
A. Please provide us with the name of the product so that we are able to better assist you. Generally, the mosquito sprays that are sprayed with a pump sprayer are safe after the treated area is completely dry. Foggers though, are only safe if the treated area is vacant.

what is the best product to spray my yard to repell mosquitos
A. We recommend using LambdaStar to spray onto surface areas. The product is vegetable oil based, so it is more eco-friendly than our other products.

Q. I used a permethrin only product that came with my cheap ulv backpack sprayer last year with great results(mosquito 86), ran out and went with something that was supposed to last longer with PBO (vector ban plus). It does not seem to be working like the other and looking for something to work well with my ulv which I use to spray all shrubs, bushes, low hanging branches and perimeter of house and any shady area that I think they could be resting at. Any suggestions about application or product would be appreciated. Walterboro S.C. <><?
A. Currently, we do not carry treatment products for mosquitoes that can be used in ulv sprayers. You could however spray surface treatment products such as Suspend SC along with Archer IGR to control the population and rid of the infestation.

Q. what is the chemical my mosquito servicce uses to repel misquitoes and ticks? The use a Sthil SR-420 backpack sprayer, and claim the chemical is some form of synthetic chrysanthemum and totally safe?
A. We carry Dr.Ts Natural Mosquito Repellent, but nothing of chrysanthemum. You may also use items such as Suspend SC to spray onto outside surfaces. Suspend SC will have a delay kill effect on mosquitoes as well as other common household pests.

Q. what do you recomend?
i live in apartments and not only are they located near a river in south tx but also next to the swimming pool. Our hallway to the front door is shared with one neighbor and we ALWAYS get hundreds of mosquitos right by our front doors. Jus the 2 seconds it takes to unlock the door we get 10 bites every time also letting 10 mosquitos into our homes. We have very small children so is there a product that i can use in our outside hallway to make them go away and wouldnt be harmful to humans? Right now we have candles lit outside (Off! Candles) but it doesnt work.
A. We recommend using items such as Suspend SC to spray onto surfaces. Suspend has a residual time of about 2-3 months. It can also be used as a perimeter treatment for a variety of household pests. The product is safe once dry.

Q. Mosquito control for Sprinkler Automatic injection system (EZ-Flo)?
I have a automatic injection system (EZ-Flo brand) in my lawn irrigation system that used for fertilizers, insecticides and pest repellant. My lawn consists of both drip and sprays. Do you have a product that can kill mosquitos, Asian and Japanese beetles using that method?
A. We are unfamiliar with the specific injection system. However, if we could recommend a product, we suggest using Suspend liquid concentrate. You can also use Suspend both indoors and outdoors as well.

Q. How to manage mosquitos in my forest like yard??
I want to get rid of all the mosquitos in my yard as my son is very allergic. I have almost all shade with large hardwoods. I removed all the leaves up hopeing that would help though the woods start about 40 yards from my house. I live in GA and they are very bad this year. I dont want to kill all the bugs in the yard but if that is the only way to let my son play outside I think I may have to. What can I do to get rid of these pests?
A. If there is standing water, we recommend using Mosquito Dunks in that area. Otherwise, we suggest using Permethrin SFR as a broadcast treatment around the yard. If you would like, you can use Exponent Synergist to enhance the effectiveness of the product.

Q. mosquitoes bites?
Mosquitoes at my northern MN cabin.
A. Mosquitos will nest in areas that are high in moisture whether that is an unused bird feeder that has gathered water or a creek bank and etc. It is important that these sources are someone controlled and maintained. Moreover, you can treat ornamentals like bushes or shrubs with an insecticide. The insecticide that we recommend is Suspend SC. We also recommend using Archer IGR with it. IGR is an insect growth regulator and you will need to control the reproduction of the mosquitoes.

Q. Mosquito fog spray ?
My wife hates mosquitos and I want to purchase a fogger and chemicals. What do you recommend?
A. It will depend on the surrounding circumstances like where you will be applying the insecticide, if there are children, pets, or animals, and etc. Normally, we will recommend Suspend SC to be sprayed on the outside area on walls, window frames, and ornamentals. If the area you are treating is vacant, we recommend using Riptide as a fogging concentrate to put into a fogger machine.

Q. What to use for yard and house??
We live in Michigan and heat with wood, so we have wood stacked in the yard which we have lots of trees on our acre lot. We bring some wood in the house and keep in a tote with a lid in the winter but we still get the mosquitos in the house my 4 year old gets bit badly every year whether outside or while she is sleeping.
A. We recommend using Exciter Insecticide that is a pyrethrin base. You can treat not only the live ornamentals outside, but also treat the stacked wood both inside and outside. what can i use to kill them indoors i have a old type hand pump fogger the spray i use to get is no longer it had 0.15%d-trans Allethrin and 0.30%Piperonyl butoxide, techinical and 0.50%N-octyl bicycoheptene dicarboximide it worked really well do you have something that will work. THANKS EJS

Q. I have dogs, what is the best way to get rid of mosquitoes in my house??
A. If this is a reoccurring problem, you will need to first inspect around the perimeter of the home to see if there are any potential nesting sites. Common spots to search for are areas with standing water where mosquitoes may be able to comfortably lay their eggs with out disturbances. If these puddles are found we recommend the use of mosquito dunks in that area. You could also do a perimeter treatment with products such as Essentria IC-3 and spray along bushes, trees, and other ornamental plants around the house as well as along all window and door frames. For indoors, you could also use a light trap to capture flying stragglers.

A. Altosid Pro-G Insect Growth Regulator is a mosquito larvicide. It is specially formulated to kill mosquito larvae before they develop into adults, and provides control for up to 30 days.
