MotherEarth Dust is an all natural product made from highly purified freshwater Diatomaceous Earth. The natural substance acts as a desiccant, dehydrating exposed insects until they die. The product is harmless to humans and animals but works with great residual efficiency to control insects such as ants, cockroaches, fleas and mites.

MotherEarth Dust Diatomaceous Earth - 10 lbs. Bucket

Diatomaceous earth is a naturally occurring substance with pesticidal known properties. MotherEarth is one of the safest insecticides available today. The product does not contain chemical insecticides but rivals the performance of chemically based pesticides. Much like boric acid, diatomaceous earth is composed of microscopic abrasive particles that cut through insect exoskeletons. These particles are also excellent moisture absorbers, contaminated insects are dehydrated and they are killed eventually.

Why Should You Use?

Diatomaceous earth is a powerful residual that does not decompose or dissolve. Expect the most lasting residual with MotherEarth Pest Control Dust.

Directions for Use

We recommend applying MotherEarth Diatomaceous Dust with a Bellow duster or a Centrobulb duster for best application.

FOR ANTS, COCKROACHES, EARWIGS, SPIDERS AND OTHER CRAWLING INSECTS: Apply to infested areas using a hand duster. Apply lightly to cracks and crevices, crawlspaces, along baseboards, around sinks, cabinets, refrigerators, stoves and in attics and basements.

IN FOOD HANDLING AREAS: Use the product for crack and crevice or spot treatments in food/feed handling areas. Remove or cover food in treatment area before applications. Limit spot treatments to floors and walls. Apply in dry areas for best results. Repeat treatment as necessary.

FOR FLEAS: Treat pet resting areas, beddings, sleeping quarters, rugs and carpets by applying evenly a thin coat of the product over these areas. Rake the carpets and rugs after applications in order for the dust to penetrate the fabric. Leave for overnight treatment. Treat cracks and crevices, baseboards and other areas where fleas may find entrance. Repeat applications if necessary.

OUTDOOR USE: Apply using hand dusters and similar dust application equipment. Treat perimeters, ant trails, foundations, window sills and frames and other possible pest entry points. Repeat treatments if necessary.

Do You Have a Question about this Product? Ask Our Experts!

A.  Yes, the mother earth powder treats bed bugs. However, because this is a dust product, please restrict use to areas that are not used frequently such as under the furniture, along the baseboards, around outlets, etc. Because the product is in a dust form, it can be inhaled if used in highly inhabited areas.

Q. How long does it take to kill the fleas??
A.  Mother earth dust is not recommended for indoor areas that are inhabited. Instead, we recommend Conquer and Precor IGR to spray onto carpets and outside perimeters. To rid of fleas, it is important to vacuum daily. If you would like an immediate knockdown item, Demize has a 15 minute knock down. Afterwards, you would want to follow up with treatment using Conquer and Precor IGR. Flea infestations can be difficult and take various lengths of time depending on the size of the infestation.

Q. I have a large yard with a major ant problem?
A.  Dusts are only recommended for spot treatments. For ants we would recommend that you lightly sprinkle the dust circling the mounds that you see. Directly applying the dust on top of mounds can disturb the mounds and cause them to bud and spread.

Q. This doesn't say food grade. Is it??
A.  Mother Earth D is not food grade. It is an insecticide grade.

Q. I've read diatomaceous earth becomes ineffective when it comes in contact with moisture or water. Is this product any different??
A.  There are a few different types of Diatomaceous Earth (DE). Diatomaceous earth is made as a food grade, pool grade, and as an insecticide. The Mother Earth DE will continue to have a killing effect once it has fully dried out again.
