Q. Boxelder bugs Control?
I have boxelder bugs eating my plants in the flowers and bushes that we just spent several hundred dollars doing. I need to know what to use that will kill them before they do any more damage.
We recommend that you use a granular product to do a broadcast lawn treatment, as well as using a liquid concentrate product. Talstar granulars can be dispersed throughout the lawn for effective, broad treatment. If the plants/bushes/flowers are just ornamental,
we recommend you use Talstar Pro liquid concentrate to spray onto the necessary surfaces.
The product has a residual of 3-4 months depending on the external conditions. You may re-apply every couple months if necessary.
Q. Masterline Bifenthrin 7.9-boxelder bug problem?
I'd like to solve a boxelder bug problem (they like to congregate around our doorways), and I'm wondering how Masterline Bifenthrin 7.9 is supposed to be applied. Can you give me some more information? Thanks.
A. Thank you for contacting us with your question. Since Box Elder bugs like to reside in areas with lots of moisture its very likely you are finding them in your mulch or areas with lots of moisture. Masterline Bifenthrine will be a good product to use. It is recommended that you mix 1 oz of the concentrated solution with one gallon of water and thoroughly spray on the areas where you mostly see them. If you feel that it is quite an heavy infestation I would recommend that you first replace your mulch.

Q. About Box elder bugs?
I have a Raintree would these Bux Elder Bugs be coming from this tree ? If so do you have any suggestion on what we should do, when it is in bloom it is beautiful and I really do not want to have it cut down. I live in Fl.
A. You can spray Talstar on ornamentals and also around the perimeter of your home so that they are unable to enter. Talstar will kill boxelder bugs on contact and has a residual of about 2-3 months.
Q. how about standard laundry bleach??
Thet are just coming out and soon to be a pest.
A. We do not recommend using standard laundry bleach for control against any type of pest. It is potentially very hazardous and will not provide an effective control. Also, please be specific on what your target pest is so that we may better assist you.
Q. is there something similar to Talstar? I am unable to find it in our area?
We seem to be keeping them on the outside. We are just overrun with them.
A. Bifenthrin is Talstar's active ingredient. You can check your area to see if there is pesticide containing bifenthrin. If not, you can also place an order for Talstar online or by phone. We offer free shipping to the 48 continental states.
Q. Are boxelder bugs a type of beetle or what are they??
we didnt have them last year but the year before we were also overrun with them.
A. Boxelder bugs are a type of beetle. They are attracted to sources of moisture. We recommend spraying near pine straws, mulches, etc. to rid of them.
Q. Will Spraying with Talstar be harmfull to our dogs.?
We have had box Elders for a few years now .
Will spraying with Talstar be harmfull to our dogs?
A. Boxelder bugs are primarily on the outside and spraying Talstar on the outside will not harm your dogs as long as you allow the treated area to completely dry before reentry. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. Boxelder beetles in our basement adn santuary of checuh?
A. Talstar Pro or Lambdastar 9.7 are the recommended products for true bugs like boxelder bugs or stink bugs. Although Talstar Pro does not have them on the label, we know that the bifenthrin active ingredient is very effective against boxelder bugs. Do not apply both products in the same area at the same time. One one of either is necessary. Inside, you must only treat the baseboards, window sills, door frames, and cracks and crevices that are under or behind furniture. Outside, a perimeter application must be made around the entire perimeter of the structure. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. Box elder bugs EVERYWHERE?
I live next to the woods and the wherever the sun is hitting the house, you can bet there will be hundreds-thousands of box elder bugs. There are doors to outside that we won't even open due to the amount of box elder bugs. What do I need to use and do we need to manage to spray the entire side of the house outside?
A. We recommend using a pyrethroid active ingredient to treat boxelder bugs. The leading pyrethroid insecticides are Suspend SC, Talstar Pro, and Demon WP. This should be sprayed in areas where the boxelder bugs frequent as well as the rest of the entire perimeter of the house. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. Box Elder bugs ALL OVER!!!! We have outside dogs, what product do you recommend??
Our entire tree trunck is full of bugs, our deck is full of them, and they are all over our lawn... Help...
A. For true bugs like boxelder bugs or stink bugs, we recommend a pyrethroid insecticide. The top pyrethroid insecticides that we carry are Suspend SC and Talstar Pro. Either will work for boxelder bug control. Please keep in mind that all treated areas must be completely dry before reentry by people of by your dogs. Also, all labels must be thoroughly reviewed before application. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. We have box elder beetles on the front of our house, which is sided with cedar shingles. Do they breed in the shingles? Previous solutions basically say control is in spraying mulch and the lower parts of the house, not necessarily an entire side. ?
A. Boxelder bugs do not breed indoors and they lay their eggs in cracks and crevices of the tree bark. If you are able, you can spray an entire side of the house. You should treat all isolated areas of infestation with a pyrethroid insecticide. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. We have tried EVERYTHING!!! And they seem to be coming back thicker each year and with every treatment! Sometimes we spray DAILY and it makes no impact. PLEASE HELP!!?
A. If you are using a residual insecticide, it is not recommended to spray everyday. Moreover, concentrate residual insecticides have a delay kill effect and will not provide you with an instant knockdown kill. We recommend spraying the entire perimeter of the house with a pyrethroid active ingredient concentrate spray like Demon WP, Suspend SC, or LambdaStar 9.7.
Q. do u have anythin natural?
how to get rid of the boxlder bugs
A. We do not have "natural" pesticides that have boxelder bugs on the label. We know that the Bifenthrin and Deltamethrin active ingredients are highly effective for killing boxelder bugs. The product that contains Bifenthrin is Talstar Pro and the one that contains Deltamethrin is Suspend SC. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. how can i get ride of boxelder bugs inside?
boxelders have moved inside my home ive seen all kinds. they have been here all winter that is inside my home
A. We are not quite sure of what you mean by "all kinds" as there is just one kind of boxelder bug. Indoors, you can use a concentrate product like Cy-Kick or Suspend SC around windowsills, baseboards, in the attic, around door frames, and etc. however, concentrate products cannot be sprayed as a broadcast application indoors. For a fast knockdown kill, we recommend aerosols like 565 Plus XLO or Cy-Kick aerosol. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. We have a boxelder problem inside and outside our home.?
We have three cats what can we use to rid our home of boxelders without harming our pets
A. Indoors, we recommend a short residual spray like Cy-kick aerosol. Keep in mind that all treated areas must be left alone to dry before it is safe for reentry. Outdoors, we recommend a long residual concentrate spray or a long residual wet-able powder like Talstar Pro or Demon WP. These products are mixed with water and applied with a pump sprayer (handheld or backpack). If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. Will fenvastar work as an effective killer of box elder bugs??
A. Yes, in fact, Fenvastar EcoCap has boxelder bugs on the label as a target pest. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. natural boxelder bug killers?
Is there a natural way to kill or keep them away?
A. You want to find and seal any cracks and crevices outside your home to prevent them from coming in. We do carry botanical insecticides but we would recommend a product like Suspend SC or Demand CS which contains a longer residual resulting in a lasting treatment.
Q. can i inject my maple tree to take care of boxelder bugs??
I am looking for the proper chemicals to inject into my tree.
A. Merit is a systemic insecticide. Therefore the plants will absorb the chemical through its roots effecting any pests that decides to feed on the plants.
Q. my box elder bugs keep returning every year. i have sprayed with pyrethrins, trees and exterior of house also treated under house with drione dust.?
my box elder bugs keep returning every year.I spray trees and exterior with a pyrethrin. they keep coming back. also treated under house with drione dust.
A. Box elder bugs are lawn invading pests. You may want to try using a granular to treat your whole lawn. I would recommend a product such as Delta Guard G Granules.
Q. can the things use to get rid of them be harmful to pets??
A. The safest way to apply a pesticide when you have pets is to keep them out of the room that the pesticide is being applied to until it has fully dried. After application, the air in the room should be ventilated before re occupying the area.
