Q. Rat bait station?
A.  Hello, Thank you for contacting us with your question. The rat baits that you would use in the rat bait stations should stay effective for up to 6 months. It depends on the infestation. If you have a heavy infestation, the baits would be eaten up frequently. If the baits just sit around in the bait stations, it is labeled to have a residual time for up to 6 months. Q. recent purchase/need help using for Protecta LP rat bait station?
A.   Protecta LP is a rat bait station, it is not a "trap". As a matter of fact, it holds traps. Bait stations are used to hold traps and rodenticides. They are tamper free and generally they are used to protect non-target animals and children who may be curious about the rodenticides and traps.
