One of the most basic methods of insect control in the pest control management industry is liquid spray. Whether it is for prevention or elimination, almost every insect control program will include the use of a liquid spray. It is not different for cockroach control. Cockroach elimination can be difficult; however, with sprays that will create barriers and kill cockroaches on contact, killing cockroaches have never been easier. Moreover, Pest Mall provides all the leading roach insecticides in the industry. These are the same cockroach killers that professionals are using to spray your home. Now it is made available for you to use for prevention, elimination, and long term control.
Depending on the level of infestation, the roach insecticides must be re-applied every 3 to 4 months. Also, remember that roach insecticides are made of toxic chemicals. Read all product labels and MSDS labels before applying any insecticide. For most of the liquid sprays, once the product is dry, it is usually safe for contact. If you have any questions on what products are best fit for the infestation that you are experiencing, please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-788-4142.
The Importance of Roach Insecticide
There are a variety of roach insecticides that are available for use against roaches. Residual sprays that are used to control roach infestations provide a complete control for a long period of time. The term “residual†in the pest control industry means that the insecticide still has a killing effect even after it has dried. This means that it can provide a control for up to 4 or even five months with just one application. Although many people are skeptical of using chemical based products to control a pest infestation, the roach insecticides that are made available by Pest Mall are safe when used appropriately and after the product label has been reviewed. Moreover, it is easy to use. The only real requirements or combining materials that are needed is a sprayer and water. Finally, liquid sprays can be sprayed both indoors and outdoors. This means that you can gain a complete control without worrying about new infestations entering your home or structure. Liquid sprays can be used for regular roach control maintenance or to kill an active roach infestation.
How to Effectively Apply Roach Insecticide
Keep in mind that there are several different formulations of roach insecticide that is available for use. Each type of formulation may not differ in efficacy; however, the residual time may vary slightly. Also, most liquid concentrate formulations will dry on clear, but such formulations like the wet-able powder will leave a visible residue. Some species of cockroaches nest indoors whereas other species nest outdoors and only come inside to forage for food or even as a wandering straggler. Usually, the species of cockroaches must be identified so that you know where the target areas of treatment are. However, whether it is outdoor control or indoor control, the dilution rates of the roach insecticide will be the same. Keep in mind that due to natural circumstances like weather breakdown and debris build up, the residual time of the insecticide that is applied outdoors will be shorter than the residual time of the insecticide that is applied in normal conditions. Each roach insecticide has a specified dilution rate that is labeled on the product label. Dilute the solutions accordingly in a gallon or 2 gallon sprayer.
Outdoor control will mainly consist of setting up a barrier treatment plan around the structure. Barrier treatments are bands of roach insecticide that goes up the wall of a structure from the base and goes out on the ground from the base of the structure. Typically, the insecticide bands are about 4 feet wide. Barrier treatments also focus on applying roach insecticide on target areas like around the window frame, around the doors, around various cracks and crevices on the structure, and etc.
Indoors, roach insecticide can be applied around the base boards of each room, underneath appliances like the stove, refrigerator, under and behind laundry machines, and etc. Keep in mind that if baits are also being used for indoor roach control, baits and sprays must be applied in separate areas. A rule of thumb to consider when using both roach insecticides and roach baits is that baits are kept up high and sprays are applied down low.

Although liquid concentrates and liquid sprays are effective as a contact kill method of treatment, roaches also breed nearby the home in nests that are hard to locate or even treat.
This is why baits will be the most effective method of control for roaches. Bait gels or bait stations can be used like the Alpine Roach Gel or the Dupont Advion Roach bait stations.
Think of the baiting method of kill as a domino effect. One roach is contaminated with the bait poison and when it dies near the nest, other roaches will feed on the dead carcass and share the poison that way.
I would recommend a bait form to control roaches. The Maxforce FC Magnum Roach Bait is known to be very effective and very popular with the customers. It is an ingestion kill and a contact kill. The roaches will carry it back to their nesting area and wipe out the source.
Roaches are carnivorous and will feed on other roaches. If one roach dies from consuming the Maxforce FC Magnum cockroach Bait and another roach feeds on that dead roach, that roach will die as well.
We also have granular forms such as Niban Granular Bait that targets roaches as well. Just make sure all other foods are sealed away or not present to eliminate food competition.
