Do You Have a Question about this Product? Ask Our Experts!
Q. Does this kill fleas too??
A. Absolutely NOT! Fleas are not on the product label as a target pest for fleas. Also, Termidor is NOT used for direct contact with people or animals. As a matter of fact, Termidor is used for outdoor use only or for "indoor treatment" when you are applying it as a spot treatment in the wall void or under the flooring for termite treatment. In cannot be used indoors for ant control or for other pest control.
Q. Why should I use Termidor and not something else??
A. Termidor's advanced non-repellent technology makes Termidor the most superior to all other termiticides in the market right now. It is a trusted product by many professional termite management companies and homeowners all over the nation. As a matter of fact, it's been chosen as the #1 termiticide. Moreover, not only is the product effective, but the manufacturers, BASF, is one of the top pest control product manufacturing companies in the nation.
Q. I heard I can kill carpenter ants with Termidor, but it's a termiticide.?
A. Termidor is actually a termiticide/insecticide. It works for all species of termites but can be a great product for outdoor control of an extensive list of pests (refer to the product label for the complete list of target pests). It is also one of the top control products for carpenter ant infestations as well as other wood infesting pests.
Q. Is Termidor safe to use around my dog and my son??
A. Yes, if applied correctly and in the correct areas. Termidor is for outdoor use only and for spot treatment in the wall void and under the flooring. Product labels and MDSD labels must be reviewed thoroughly before applying any pesticide, including Termidor.
Q. How do I mix Termidor??
A. Termidor is mixed 0.8 fluid ounces per gallon of water. One 20 oz. bottle of Termidor is 24 gallons of solution.
Q. Can I use this to kill the sugar ants in my kitchen??
A. Termidor will NOT control sugar ants in the kitchen. It is actually labeled for OUTDOOR USE only and cannot be used for indoor treatment anywhere inside your house. Therefore, it will not control ants in the kitchen nor will it control any other insect pest inside the building.
Q. Can I use Termidor as foam for my wall void treatment??
A. Yes. By using a foaming agent like ProFoam Foaming Concentrate or a foaming sprayer, you can apply Termidor to the wall void or other infested areas as a foaming application.
Q. How do you trench with Termidor??
A. Basically, when you are trenching around your house, you are ultimately creating an underground barrier in the soil. You will dig a "trench" or a hole that is 6 inches deep. Each hole is 10 linear feet apart and the "line" of holes goes around the perimeter of the house. You want to try and get as close as you can to the structure as you can. Mix your solution of Termidor and water. It will take 0.8 fl oz of Termidor per gallon of water. In each trench or hole, you will slowly pour in 4 gallons of emulsion.
Q. I have a 2400 linear feet around my mono-slab house.?
A. Since you are trenching 4 gallons of emulsion every 10 linear feet, you would need 96 gallons of emulsion which is at 4 bottles of Termidor. However, we always recommend that you purchase an extra bottle just in case. With the extra Termidor, you can also do spot treatment on the surface or in concentrated areas of infestation.
Q. Can I treat my maple tree that's infested with carpenter ants with Termidor? Is it safe fo?
A. Yes, you can. As long as the plant is an ornamental tree and it is not a plant that bears edible materials like fruits and vegetables, it is safe to use Termidor to treat your plant if it is infested with carpenter ants and even termites. Please refer to the product label before applying any type of pesticide.
Q. I think I have something eating my vegetables in my garden.?
A. No, it will not be safe to use Termidor. First, the best thing to do is identify the pest. Most likely, it will be a type of beetle or aphid that has infested your vegetable garden. Regardless, Termidor has a secondary kill affect which means that if you were to ingest the plants that were treated with Termidor, you can potentially poison yourself or non-target animals. It will be better to use bait products or something that is appropriately labeled for gardens. For help in identification of the pest and the treatment methods, call a Pest Mall technician at 1-800-788-4142. Always review the product label before applying any pesticide.
Q. When do Termidor SC Insecticide / Termiticide be effective and how long will it last??
A. The Termidor SC Insecticide / Termiticide will begin to dissipate in less than 90 days after application. It was made with 9.1% Fipronil that disrupts the insect central nervous system which causes hyper excitation of contaminated insects' nerves and muscle. When it used for ground floor, it provides more than 10 years of protection as stated by BASF-(one of the top manufacturing companies).
Q. How to chose the right termite killer?
A. Well, it depends first on what kind of termites you have. For subterranean and formosan termites, we recommend a trenching treatment using
Termidor SC or
Dominion 2L . Termite bait stations, which specifically target subterranean termites, will also effectively kill them. However, if you have dry wood termites, then you want to trench using
Boracare. We also recommend
Premise termiticides for dry wood termites. If you need any assistance identifying your termites, please give us a call at 1-800-788-4142.
Q. Professional termite treatment ?

Q. Termite Control?
A. We have several different top quality termite products that you can use which all do an excellent job for termite treatment. Recommendations will vary depending upon the area in which you are trying to treat. Subterranean termites, for example, need a moisture source to survive; therefore they are usually found infesting the lower levels of structures such as basements, downstairs bathroom, kitchen, etc. However dry wood termites do not need a moisture source to survive so they are most commonly found infesting upper levels of structures such as in the attic area. For subterranean termites, trenching treatment is highly recommended using either Termidor or Dominion. As for dry wood termites spot treatment is recommended with Boracare.

Q. termidor application?
A. In order to do a ground treatment, you must dig 6" deep or at least as deep as your foundation in the ground.
You are also doing this every 10 feet around the entire perimeter of the house, therefore, the quantity you need will really depend on the size of your house.
Since you are pouring in 4 gallons of solution every 10 feet around the perimeter, its best to calculate how many gallons of solution you will need first before deciding how many bottles you will need. Each bottle will give you 24 gallons if you dilute it as labeled.

A. Not one is more superior to the other. Termidor is a name that many homeowners and pest control companies know and trust. Therefore, the sell rate is higher and more people will look for something that they can feel familiar with.
Dominion is a newer product and so it is not as well known as Termidor, however, its effectiveness is the same. Also, they are both non-repellent termiticides.
However, the dilution rates are a little bit different for both products and the active ingredient is different for both products. Also, Dominion can be considered as the cheaper alternative to Termidor.
If you are trenching with these products, the residual time is about 5-6 years. If you are doing a surface treatment with Termidor, then it will last about 3-5 months.

Q. termidor sprayer?
A. As long as the recommended dilution rate is mixed accordingly it should be fine.
Q. How do you trench with Termidor??
A. Basically, when you are trenching around your house, you are ultimately creating an underground barrier in the soil. Dig along the whole perimeter of your house about 6 inches deep and 6 inches wide. Once the trench is dug pour 4 gals of your .8 fl oz to one gal solution for every ten linear ft. Also, make sure to spray your back fill before or after you have covered the trench back up.
Q. Could I use termidor as a general pest control product indoors??
A. No, Termidor is for outdoor treatments only. The only exception would be a spot treatment for a termite infestation that needs to be treated indoors. Indoor treatment would mean injecting termidor inside wall voids where an infestation exists.
Q. termidor termite treatment?
A. Your treatment should be postponed to a later time simply because the saturation of the soil will cause run-offs and less soil bonding with Termidor which in turns provides inadequate protection against termites. Run-offs may also lead to water contamination. Termidor is highly toxic to birds, fish, and other aquatic life.
Q. my crazy dog?
A. During application of Termidor it's a must that you keep them away, but once its dry its okay for them to occupy that space. Also, Termidor Sc is a product registered with the EPA who regulates pesticide usage and our industry as a whole with health and safety in high regards.
Q. Termidor SC Fipronil control roach!!!?
A. Absolutely, but Termidor is labeled for outdoor use only, while Maxforce FC Magnum is for indoors and outdoor use.
Q. Does termidor have a strong odor??
A. Termidor SC is actually an odorless termiticide/insecticide that cannot be detected by targeted pests. They will actually crawl right into an area that has been treated with Termidor and carry the poison back to their harborage/colony causing a secondary killing effect. All it takes for a secondary kill is for a \"carrier\" (insect that has been in contact with the poison) to come in contact with a non-infected member of the tribe.
Q. How much Termidor would need to be purchased for a home that is 46 ft. by 24ft? The property is located in TN. ?
A. To do the perimeter control w/ termidor , you need to dig a small trench of 6 inches deep and 6 inches wide at the foot of the foundation.
Then, Apply 4 gallons of Diluted solution to every 10 linear feet around the foundation of your home.
for your house,
(46 24)X2=140 lin. ft
14X 4gal =56 gal
You need to mix 56gals of termidor diluted solution.
-For this size property you will need about 60 gallons which will equal 3 bottles of termidor sc.
Q. The website instructions recommend trenches six feet deep by six feet wide. Should that instead be inches??
A. Yes this is suppose to be inches.
Q. how long the termidor sc temiticide last?
A. Thank you for contacting us with your concern. Yes it is true that everyone should do a termite treatment every 7 years because that is usually how long the temiticide chemicals last. Usually suberranean termites can be spotted by their mud tunnels along the walls.

A. You are essentially digging a "moat" around the entire perimeter of the house and so the most effective way is to dig a trench that is 6x6 around the entire perimeter of the structure. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us again.

Q. Ants in House?
A. Trenching is done for subterranean termite treatment but is not necessary for ant treatment. When using Termidor to apply to the surface, it requires a pump sprayer. Usually, a gallon of solution will cover anywhere between 1000-2000 sq. ft. depending on how you apply it. Such things as weather, humidity, and sunlight can break down chemicals and so the residual of the Termidor may not be as long on the surface. It will give you a residual of about 2-3 months when applied on surfaces. Termidor is not labeled for indoor use, so please restrict this for outdoor and crawlspace application only.
Q. Subterranean termites ate holes in pool lining?
A. Treatment will vary depending on the area the termites have infested. If the termites have infested the area between the house and the pool, you will want to do a perimeter treatment around the house and the pool. If the termites have infested just the area not facing the house, you can just do a perimeter treatment around the pool area.
Because the pool is surrounded by a fiber-like material along with tiles, it is not necessary to treat under the pool directly. However, you would still want to do a perimeter treatment around the pool.
Q. Any chance this would kill larder beetles? ?
A. Termidor SC is not labeled for larder beetles and is best for ant treatment. For larder beetle treatment we would actually recommend Cy-Kick CS. This is also a liquid concentrated insecticide which targets a very large range of pests including larder beetles.
Q. how long does it take for termidor to kill the termmites?
A. The kill time varies depending on the size of the infestation, but normally it takes about 2-3 weeks to see results.
Q. We just had our house treated with termidor twice this past year due to formosan termites. Had to come out of pocket for the repairs. That Hurt$$$$ Would like a little added insurance on prevention. Local pest control termite bonds DO NOT COVER THESE TERMITES..... Is this product the same one that they used? If so will I have an issue purchasing/shipping some since I live in Alabama? Thanks for you help in advance. ?
A. The Termidor is the same one used by professionals. It is very effective and has a long residual period. There is no problem purchasing and shipping this product to Alabama. You can place an order online or by phone at your convenience.
Q. Is their a expiration date on this product??
A. Shelf life for all of our liquid concentrates are 2-3 years. Ground treated with Termidor remains effective for 6-7 years.
Q. We have subterranian Termites and we want to treat with termidor. Our house is 40 long x 28 wide and our garage is 30 foot long x 30 foot wide. We want to treat BOTH the garage and house. How many bottles of solution will we need? Also what is the best way to apply this treatment -- will we need a sprayer? An helpful advise would be greatly appreciated!?
A. It is best to trench the outside perimeter for subterranean termites. We recommend using 4 gallons of solution every 10 linear feet. If you would like to inject Termidor into the building, we recommend using 2 gallons of solution for every 10 linear feet. You would use 0.75 oz of Termidor for every gallon of water solution.
Q. We have a termite issue at our home and we do believe they are Subterranian termites. How can we know this for sure??? We can see them in the house (mostly basement) in the spring when it is wet. We also can see them in our mulch (which we are in the processing of removing). I see in the Q&A where subterranian are mostly found in wet/lower spaces such as basement. Any helpful advise would be greatly appreciated!?
A. It is difficult to identify what kind of termites you have just by looking at them. Subterranean termites require ground contact. Sometimes, you can see mud tunnels rising up from underground. If the termites are found in places like the second floor, attics, etc., you are most likely infested with drywood termites.

A. Termidor is not labeled for indoor application. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. my house is 130 by 80, how many bottle termidor?
A. It really depends on what type of treatment you are doing. You should keep in mind that Termidor cannot be used indoors because it is not labeled for that use. If you are just using Termidor to do a surface treatment, 1 gallon of solution will treat anywhere between 1,000-1,500 sq. ft. depending on how you spray the product. If you are doing a trench treatment, you will have to measure the linear measurement around the perimeter of your house. Since you will be trenching 4 gallons of solution every ten feet, that linear perimeter measurement must be accurate. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. Using Termidor SC against Rasberry Crazy Ants?
A. You can use Termidor SC as a surface spray for ants. In fact, although it is a top rated termite control product, it is also a top rated ant control product. Pets cannot come in contact with the treated area until after the treated area has completely dried and overly frequent contact with the treated area may potentially harm your pets.
Q. Do you have to trench or could you just dig holes for the solution??
A. When you are using the Termidor outside for subterranean termites, you would need to trench around your home. You can dig a 6"x6" trench and pour four gallons of solution every 10 feet. You want to dig a trench, to create a barrier around your house.
Q. Will Termidor kill my grass and plants??
A. Termidor will not kill your grass and plants as it does not function as a herbicide.
Q. I sprayed my house at noon and it rained at 3:30pm. do I need to respray the house??
A. If you trenched, there is no need to re apply after rain. However if it were surface treatment we would recommend a second application. For surface treatment we usually recommend 24 dry time so that rainfall will not falter its residual effect.
