Q. products to use for termite treatments?
How about using both Termidor SC and Dominion 2L at the same time? I have a lot of termites in my shed at the farm, 63 x 40. So far, just the wood stacked around, not the framing of the shed yet. I have identified them as subterranian type. I want and need them dead now before they find the shed framing and wood shelving. Can I just pour this stuff all over the inside of the shed, it has a dirt floor throughout. Thanks
A.
It would not be wise to use two different types of termiticides together. Also, all products come with product labels with strict directions on dilutions rates and application methods.
If they are not followed, you may have a negative effect.
However, Termidor is one of the top termite control products on the market and Termidor alone may control your termite infestation. The best way to use Termidor would be through ground treatment.
Q. termite prevention?
What can I use to prevent my home from getting termites?
A. Thank you for contacting us with your concern. If you have not yet found an infestation and want to use something as a preventative or monitoring purpose we have bait stations that you can plant around the perimeter of the structure in which you are wanting to monitor. All professional pest control companies use monitoring systems for termite treatment.
Termite Monitoring Systems
We carry several different brands of these professional use systems that you can refer to on the above link.
Once you have planted these stations it is recommended that you check quarterly to see if you can spot any infestation to any of the monitoring bases.
Once an infestation has been spotted to the monitoring cartridge you will need to exchange it out with the bait poison cartridge. Bait cartridges are only necessary inside the stations that have a spotted infestation.
Q. Termite Prevention?
What is the best product to protect against Termite. termite control company wants to charge $900. Can I do it myself, how much will it cost? I have around 300 ft to protect.
A. For subterranean termites, it is best to trench around the perimeter of the house.
Termidor or
Dominion are the leading products. You will use about 4 gallons of solution every 10 linear feet. Trenching will have a residual of about 4-5 years. If you are infested with drywood termites, Premise foam is effective for spot treatments.
Q. termite treatment video?
Hi,
Is there any termite treatmemt info/video on how to do the trenching around the house?
Q. house has shallow well (termite treatment)?
what can i use to treat for termites if i have a well for drinking water
A. You would not be able to use a chemical insecticide around the well. The best you could possibly do is to use a termite baiting system.
We recommend the Advance Termite Baiting system for you.
After three months of monitoring, if you see that there is an infestation of termites, you can replace the monitoring cartridges with a chemical based cartridge that will not "leak" because its not of liquid form.
If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. best product for termite control?
We have just purchased a new home.It sits on a slab.It was pre treated when it was under construction. What would be the best product to use with out having to have a contract with a Company?
A. I think we chatted on our chatting system. Here is the information we chatted about:
For trenching with Termidor:
Dig a trench 6" deep and 6" wide every 10 linear feet.
Spray 4 gallons of the diluted solution (.4 fl oz of Termidor to one gallon of water)
Q. orange oil termite treatment?
My house is a 2008 new construction. I discovered a pin size hole near the base of a wooded wall unit, from which termite eggs are trickling out. Which product method would you recommend for a DIYer? It must be SAFE. Orange oil? How can I inject into a pin sized hole?
A. I don't believe Orange Oil active ingredient will be very effective against termite control.
Also, you must really be able to identify the species of termites for optimal results because there are a variety of ways a homeowner can treat a specific species of termites.
I recommend that you recieve an inspection first. Most pest control services will give you a free inspection. Once you receive the inspection, we may be able to better assist you with the right materials.
recomand termite treatment product : termidor sc
Q. What time of year is it best to treat for termites??
How do you verify that an exterminating company is a good company?
A. Although termites will remain active all year, it is best to treat after the winter in the spring. That is because it is easiest to apply termiticides or install stations when the ground is softer that the winter's frozen ground. Also, peak activity usually starts right as the winter is ending and into the spring. It really depends on your location. Also, services will sometimes over charge for labor and many times, services will undercharge without providing quality services. It's best to get estimates and compare. Also, look into reviews of the company and rely on your personal relations with other homeowners. It really is a judgement call.
Q. if termite happen in my next door neighbor will it be travel in to my house?
A. If the food supply and all conditions are right in your neighbors home, the termites will probably not leave. However, there are always chances that the swarmers will travel to neighboring areas.
Q. termite?
I'm see flying termite and white one in my house in the basement which is more effective in treating the problem phanton or dragnet if I'm think to drill hole around the four edge of the house.
A. Not one product is "better" than the other for termite control and both will kill termites. However, we would like you to keep in mind that neither of these products, as well as most other liquid termiticides, are registered in the state of New York.
Q. What is the best pesticide for subterranean termites??
A. If you are looking to do outdoor ground/trench treatment, we recommend Termidor. Termite bait stations is another way you can monitor and treat for subterranean termites outdoors.
Q. Termites in indoor doorframe?
How to treat , door is in ground floor of condominium, building ,20 apts, 2 storey building
A. If it is in the wall void that is extended from the door frame, we recommend Premise Foam Termiticide. Otherwise, you can use Premise 2 Termiticide, which is a concentrate that is diluted with water and sprayed onto surfaces of isolated areas of infestation.
Q. I have had 3 companies come out. 2 companies said no termites the other said yes termites. Yesterday I was standing on a wooden planter became and it split in half and I saw white termites in the wood. I have no clue what kind or how to treat we have slab home with a wood framed screened in porch and a trex deck on the back. Any suggestions.?
A. We suggest using items such as Boracare on the unfinished wooden structures. This can be done by spraying the mixture directly onto the surface.
Also, we recommend doing trench treatments onto the soil with Termidor for a perimeter treatment.
Q. spraying?
what kind of unit/sprayer do you reccommend for termidor? i am a homeowner doing my own house and asking what you would use to spray in the holes where i drilled into the cement?
A. Any kind of gallon sprayer will work fine for Termidor. For the drilled holes in the cement, you should use a pump sprayer to inject the chemicals into the holes. Any kind of pump sprayer will do the job.
Q. spraying termidor?
what kind of equipment do you reccommend for applying the liquid into the holes i drilled into the cement and along the footing
A. For the drilled holes in the cement, you should use a pump sprayer to inject the chemicals into the holes. Any kind of pump sprayer will do the job.
Q. Is there a way to use preventative measure to ensure no termites enter put home through used furniture??
We ae taking a dining room set from my grandmother. Her house was found to be infested with termites. Upon inspecting it I do not see termites but I'm worried about bringing it into my house without spraying/bombing/etc first to ensure if there are termites, they will be killed before we bring it into our home. Is there anything you can recommend?
A. We recommend treating the table with Boracare. Boracare can penetrate through unfinished wood, however, if the table is finished, it will work as a surface treatment. Otherwise, you may also sand down some of the finishing, paint on Boracare, and retouch with additional finishing to ensure thorough treatment.
Q. How long will a termiticide protect a normal wood fron termites?
A. Boracare protects unfinished wood for more than 10 years. It is a highly recommended product for wood boring pests.
Q. How can I treat floor joists that show signs of termites?
A. It may be necessary to sand down the finishing for proper treatment. We recommend using Boracare on unfinished wood. Boracare has the ability to penetrate into the wood for a thorough, long lasting treatment.
Q. Will diatomacious earth have any effect on termites??
A. Diatomaceous Earth is a fossilized material that works on contact. Although it may have a short term effect on termites, it will not have a lasting effect at all. If you have a drywood termite infestation, you will have to treat that isolated area of infestation. If you have a subterranean termite infestation, you will have to treat the isolated area of infestation as well as do a perimeter ground treatment with either a termiticide or by setting up monitoring bait stations around the entire perimeter of the house.
Q. diy termite treatment?
Ok thanks. So then which one would you suggest for using on the wooden frame in a house. We have termites entering our house around the area of the windows. They are eating away the wooden frame and entering from there. I was going to replace the wooden frame around window but wanted to spray before installing the new wood. So i was thinking of using termidor for this application.
Also i have termites outside around the lawn area and also between the bricks(my backyard had a lot brick work and around the pool also). I usually buy the stuff from home depot but they keep coming back. Since we don't grow any vegetables i was thinking of using dominion.
Please give your suggestions as your the expert. Any other product you would recommend instead? You have been a great help. There aren't many helpful sellers like you!
Thanks again
A. Termidor is good to use for both these areas. Please thoroughly review the product label before application.
Q. Hello, I am in process of buliding new house, What would be the best product such as anti termite and other product to prevent from other insicts to use . Thanks?
A. We recommend the product Termidor. Termidor is one of the longest residual pre-construction insecticides. Unfortunately though, there is no real preventative for other insects. Pest control for other pests is a regular maintenance type of program that you can choose to do quarterly or semi-annually with a labeled residual concentrate insecticide.
Q. We have planted an archard?
Of orange trees but have now observed after thee years that some of the trees are sick and shedding the leaves. We think that there is termite attack on them . What can we do?
A. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with any insecticides until you are able to identify the pest. Regardless, we do not have any pesticides that will get rid of termites from orange trees. None of the products we carry are labeled for orange tree plants.
Q. Termites in walls?
I recently found some tubes around the house and one inside the house (coming from the ceiling). Aside from treating the outside, the company I used sprayed a foam in the base of the wall (not the ceiling) and said that it might take 30-90 days for these temites to die. Is this corect as this seems like quite a bit of time? This is in contrast to where they applied the chemicals outside the house the termite tubes were gone were quickly.
A. We will not be able to give you a definitive answer for the length of time that it will take for the foam to eradicate the infestation as it may depend on the size of the infestation. If you do not treat the outside of your house for subterranean termites, you may see a reinfestation in the inside of the house. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. Recently I saw my window ledge and the frame all eaten away, on checking I realize it was termites, also at the side of my house there is a tree stump that was and is still be eaten by termites. I had 3 different companies come out they range from 1400-2800 for the same job.one company said that monitoring is only needed 2 times per year, another said quarterly, another said monthly.i am confuse.also I am thinking of taking down the walls where I saw the termites and spraying it now and then waiting for spring to have an exterminator come in,what do you suggest?.?
A. Monitoring is something that you definitely should consider for subterranean termites. However, if you already have an isolated area of infestation above ground like the one on your windowsill, you must treat that separately as well with a termiticide. Firstly, in regards to your window ledge, we recommend Premise Foam. As for the monitoring stations, you should consider setting those up around the house. They are first installed with just a monitoring base and then they are checked quarterly (every three months) for termite activity. Only the stations with termite activity are then replaced with poison baits. It is not necessary to check monthly, nor is it recommended. It is also not enough to check just twice a year. If you have any further questions about the products and the bait stations, feel free to email us at info@pestmall.com or give us a call at 1-800-788-4142.
Q. what is the best product to get rid of termites termidor or certicom?
A. Certicom is not a product that we carry, so we do not have much information on it. From our understanding, we know that Termidor is one of the best rated termite products on the market, especially for subterranean termites. However, it cannot be used indoors as it is not labeled for indoor application. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. Do you supply Termite Killer with Abalone shells?
A. We apologize, but we do not carry a product that includes abalone shells. We apologize that we are not able to better assist you.
Q. Subteranian Termites in Garage wall.?
Best for treating crawl space for termites ?
Foundation has been drilled every 12" to 18"
Subteranians came up through garage floor. Floor is also drill.Last treatment10 years ago! thanks, John
A. We recommend Termidor. It is the leading termite control product for trenching and spot treatment. You should consider doing a full perimeter treatment with either a liquid product like Termidor or termite bait stations.
Q. How to treat swarmers found in window sill.?
I believe a swarm of termites entered my home under the window sill. I live in N.Y., what products can I use? It seems nothing can be used in N.Y. Can a licensed termite company use products such as Termidor in N,Y.? If not, what can I use?
A. Unfortunately, not many termite control products are registered in the state of New York. We recommend using a foaming product for the window sill and tight cracks and crevices as well as wall void areas. Of the termite products that are registered in New York, we recommend CB D-Foam or Alpine Ant and Termite Foam. Both of these products target termites and will be effective for termite control. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again.
Q. termites?
i've found termite eaten wood but no termites? have they gone? do they just die? i've removed all the rotten wood and replaced it with pressure treated wood and sprayed it with termidor. is this the right way to use the product? i used it with the trenching method on the outside of the house also . but i want to treat the interior walls also so what do i use? can i spray termidor in the wall? also i found termite tubes going nowhere up the wall and no termites in them. is this normal?
A. Termidor can be used as a pretreatment for wooden surfaces which will be enclosed inside the walls. It is possible the termites may have left the area, but trenching is still recommended to prevent future re-infestations. If you see old mud tubes, I would scrape them off and spray an insecticide on top of the surface (Termidor can be used as well as long as the mud tubes are not indoors).
Q. a highly recommended termite inspector did find subterranean termites around garage door areas. He also checked interior of my home and stated & showed me where under my jaquzi/tub the beginning of termite tracking.?
he said he could do spot treatment. I didn't know spot treatment was an option. He went ahead and quoted for both spot & all perimeter w/termidor.
I had had another termite inspector day before, and he didn't check inside my house, but did find garage door area and recommended all outside perimeter he uses taurus sc. ( He would never had found tub area cause he stated he didnt have to go inside. Anyway, do you recommend "SPOT TREATMENT?
A. Yes. Spot treatment is very important when you have an active infestation indoors.
Q. How you determine if you have subterranean termites or dry wood termites??
A. subterranean termites need moisture source and ground contact in order to survive. Therefore often times you may see signs of mud tubes or mud along the holes inside the cavity of the wooden structure. Dry wood termites do not require a moisture source in order to survive. Signs of dry wood termites can be indicated by pellet like droppings thrown out from their entrance ways. Often times these pellets can be mistaken for wood shavings.
Q. We aren't sure what kind we have.?
We just purchased our first home and during a walk through found termites. We required the sellers to get a termite treatment and supposedly they were all gone. We found them in the living room which is close to 300 square feet. While having our floors sanded and poly'ed our floor guys found active termites. I immediately called our termite guy who came in and sprayed the subflooring where our guys had cut a piece of wood up. He unplugged our front porch and sprayed and re-plugged. He says that he uses an off brand of Termidor. I'm not sure that he is using the right product for the termites how can we tell if they are drywood termites?
A. Dry wood termites and Subterranean termites can be told apart by a few of their unique characteristics. Subterranean termites need a moisture source in order to survive. Therefore they need ground contact and will often times travel out of their nests by building mud tube like structures to travel through. Dry wood termites do not need a moisture source, therefore signs of mud tubes are not found, instead you will find pellet like droppings just outside their entrance holes. Termites eat the wood, therefore although they may be mistaken for wood shavings, if you look closely you will find that they are more pellet shaped (droppings).
Q. i found some tiny brown dropping in my kitchen cupboard. It is present for about a month now. I clean up the cupboard and the tiny dropping appear again the next day. Does it mean that I have termite problem??
A. If you are continuing to see new droppings after you have cleaned up the problem, this will indicate an active infestation.
